Peru launches financing plan to acquire brand-new NGV taxis
The project is promoted by Caja Metropolitana (a Peruvian credit agency) and offers new units from the brands Nissan, Kia and Volkswagen. All the cars have car tracker against theft and a will be completely insured.
The initiative, named “Taxi Metropolitano”, generated a great expectation and there already are 4,800 persons registered, of which 1.200 had qualified to receive the credit. It is estimated that before the end of the year, 500 drivers will have their own brand-new NGV taxi.
To became the owner of one of this units, the driver must pay U$S in advance. After that, the loan will be paid with the incomes generated of their work. This stage is based on a daily payment, depending on the brand, the model and the period of cancellation of the credit.
It is to highlight that the beneficiaries will not make a payment during the first month and they have 48 months to pay the loan.
Caja Metropolitana informed that it is expected that this program supplement the project of the Municipality of Lima, orientated to renew its fleet, with brand new NGVs, in order to reduce air pollution in the Peruvian capital.
